to patients and visitors!
Overview:
Our housekeeping staff are a crucial part of ensuring each and every patient is provided a clean, quiet, and calming environment. Mercy housekeepers regularly interact with our patients, visitors, and coworkers in a warm and frienldly manner. This team maintains the appearance and sanitation of all areas of Mercy Hospital Jefferson including, but not limited to patient rooms, diagnostic testing rooms, waiting areas, staff areas, examination rooms and operating rooms in accordance with infection control regulations. The team is also responsible for disposing of trash, recyclables, and medical waste according to policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
Housekeepers play a vital role in maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. This position requires regular interaction with patients, visitors, and team members, and candidates are expected to demonstrate professionalism, warmth, and excellent customer service while performing room cleaning duties.
- Education: Although a high school diploma or GED is preferred, we are pleased to offer comprehensive on-the-job training to support your success at Mercy.
- Experience: Prior hospital environmental service experience preferred. Prior work experience following written and verbal instructions. Previous experience with performing manual tasks preferred. Prior experience working with the public; customer service.
- Physical Requirements:Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
- This role involves frequent movement throughout the hospital during the majority of the shift. Flexibility and physical stamina are essential. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed to support departmental operations
