The Advanced Health Information Management Technician is responsible for overseeing the organization, maintenance, and security of patient health information within healthcare organizations. This role requires expertise in health information management systems, data analysis, and compliance regulations to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and accessibility of health records. The technician will also train and mentor all new HIM coworkers in all functional areas. Position Details:

Minimum Qualifications:
Education:   High school diploma or equivalent; medical terminology.
Experience: 2 years in HIM/medical records; 1 year experience with Release of Information, Master Patient Index, and/or Analysis.

Preferred Qualifications:
Education: Associate degree or Bachelor degree in Health Information or related field.
Experience: 4 years' prior HIM experience in an acute care medical record department. 2 years' experience in Release of Information, Master Patient Index, or Analysis role in an acute care setting.
Certification: RHIT, RHIA, and/or CHDA.

Other Skills, Knowledge, Abilities: 
•    Self-starting, highly motivated, and organized individual capable of making quick, informed decisions.
•    Adaptable to changing needs and dynamics, with the ability to perform repetitive tasks and work on a computer for extended periods.
•    Possesses intermediate skills in analysis, problem-solving, data analysis, and research, with strong attention to detail and the ability to conduct thorough reviews ensuring compliance with health information management standards.
•    Possesses strong technical skills, including advanced computer proficiency and expertise in review functions, with solid knowledge of Microsoft Office, EHR systems, health records, coding/billing, and document scanning.
