Description
Find your calling at Mercy! Ophthalmic technician helps in preparing the patient to see the ophthalmologist. Responsible for taking ocular, medical, and family history, chief complaint, completes visual acuity, refraction, OCT, and other testing as necessary. This position assists the doctor in minor procedures, does pre-op measurements for cataract and other eye surgeries, schedules surgery, and assists the front desk with phones and patient messages as needed. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards. Position Details: Education: High school diploma or GED. Experience: Minimum 2 years ophthalmology experience. 5 years experience preferred. Certification/Registration: Certified Ophthalmic Tech (COT). Other Skills and Knowledge: Outstanding patient service skills and Microsoft Office skills. Why Mercy?
