Shift: PRN | Rotating Shifts ??? Department Overview
Our high-energy, fast-paced 30-bed Surgical & Orthopedic Unit specializes in caring for a diverse range of medical and post-operative patients, including but not limited to:
Orthopedic procedures (knees, hips, shoulders)
General surgeries (appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resections)
Bariatric surgery
Sepsis, pancreatitis, and stable pneumothorax
Our nurse-to-patient ratio averages 1:6, supported by a strong team of Patient Care Associates (PCAs). The unit is known for its teamwork, compassion, dedication, and clinical excellence — making it a great place to learn, grow, and make a difference every day.
Position Overview:Work alongside skilled RNs and LPNs to help our patients achieve their highest level of wellness through personalized care.
What You'll Do:Patient Care Associate (PCA) Responsibilities:
Take and document vital signs in electronic medical records
Assist patients with meals, bathing, toileting, mobility, and transport
Provide clerical support as needed
Growth Opportunity — Become a Patient Care Technician (PCT):
Perform PCA duties plus:
Phlebotomy & blood cultures
Enteral feeding, wound care
IV and Foley catheter removal
Trach care and suctioning
✅ Our accredited Department of Labor Apprenticeship Program offers hands-on, comprehensive training
✅ New hires complete a 175-hour training program as part of orientation (no prior experience needed!)
✅ BLS certification required within one month of hire
✅ Complete PCA competencies within 3 months to stay on the team
High school diploma or GED, CNA/CPTC, or enrollment in healthcare programs
No prior experience required — we provide full training!
Physical ability to lift/push 50 lbs, stand and walk for extended periods, and perform physical patient care tasks
Preferred: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
