Pharmacy Technician - Prior Authorizations

Ability to perform in a high volume, fast-paced and results driven setting highly preferred.
This position plays a critical role ensuring patients have timely access to necessary medications by completing and submitting prior authorization for Mercy Primary Care clinics. Works cooperatively with others as part of a team and recognizes the importance of group goals.
- Accurately answer electronic, verbal, and manual prior authorization requests.
- Research active prescription insurance via chart or eligibility search.
- Communicate with clinics to acquire missing information to complete prior authorization.
- Answer incoming calls from insurance companies
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualification(s):
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Licensure: CPHT (Certified Pharmacy Technician) by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (obtained within 6 months of hire), Actively registered and in good standing with the State Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician or willing to submit application for registration by first day of employment. This includes submitting fingerprints for FBI background check.Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience: EPIC experience1 year of retail pharmacy experience, preferred.
