Description
Find your calling at Mercy! Assists the physician and office staff with selected duties to include clerical processing, patient preparation, scheduling, lab, x-ray and medical records. As directed, performs patient care activities consistent with the established standards of nursing practice. You'll support patient care by preparing patients for their visit and partnering closely with providers and the clinical care team.
??? Key Responsibilities- Entering chief complaints, taking vital signs, and reviewing patient history & allergies
- Completing medication reconciliation
- Working the Encounter Guide to help close care gaps, including:
- Fall risk
- Depression screening
- Breast & colorectal cancer screening
- Diabetic eye exams
- Rechecking elevated blood pressures
- Completing documentation in Epic for annual preventive visits
- Assisting with in-office testing, including:
- Blood draws ????
- EKGs ❤️
- Mental status exams
- Walking oxygen studies
- Point‑of‑care testing
- Administering vaccines and injections (within scope)
- Scheduling follow‑up appointments ????
- Collaborating with providers to coordinate patient care plans
- Education: High School Diploma or GED
- Certification: BLS within 90 days of hire
- Preferred Experience: 6 months in a clinical healthcare setting (primary care preferred)
- Education: High School Diploma or GED
- Certification: Active MA certification/registration (RMA, CCMA, CMA)
- BLS: Required within 90 days of hire
- Education: Diploma in Practical Nursing
- Licensure: Active LPN license
- Preferred Experience: 6 months clinical experience (primary care preferred)
