Schedule: Full Time, 40 Hours per Week, Monday to Friday

Primary Responsibilities

  • Room and prepare patients for examination by obtaining medical history, vital signs, and chief complaints while ensuring overall patient safety and comfort
  • Assist physicians with exams, treatments, and specialty-specific clinical procedures
  • Administer medications and injections (IM, subcutaneous, intradermal) and perform IV therapy as appropriate
  • Support diagnostic processes by assisting with lab and imaging procedures
  • Maintain exam rooms, including cleaning, stocking, and preparing necessary equipment and supplies
  • Accurately document patient information, procedures, and coding (ICD/CPT) within the electronic health record
  • Manage patient communication by handling calls, coordinating follow-up, and providing test results per provider direction
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and administration of medications and adherence to safety protocols, including universal precautions
  • Assist in urgent or emergency situations, including crash cart readiness and response support
  • Perform administrative functions related to referrals, managed care, and patient documentation
  • Maintain and sterilize medical equipment and support overall clinical operations
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and uphold a professional appearance and conduct standards

Qualifications
Education: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. Knowledge of the principles and skills needed for nursing, care, examination, diagnostic and treatment room procedures. Knowledge of medications and their effects, patient education, principles to develop a self-care program, instruments and common safety practices.
Licensure: Current valid state license.
Experience: Not required.
Certifications: CPR certification or obtain within 90 days of employment.
Other: Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Skill in assisting and performing a variety of medical treatments and procedures. Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations. Must be able to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and policies. Must be able to communicate clearly and establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, staff and the public. Basic computer terminal and keyboard skills, or the ability to learn these skills, in order to access information and enter clinical data. Equipment Used: Must be able to operate equipment normally related to the specialty of the clinic.
