Position: REMOTE - Director, Managed Care Contracting Operations 

Location:  Mercy Share Services  

Shifts:  FT Days 40/hrs per week - 8:00am - 4:30pm

Overview:

The Director – Managed Care Contracting Operations contributes to the organization's growth and profitability by providing managed care contracting initiatives and operational expertise, guidance, and direction to the ministry. 

Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

 

Must have a proven ability to lead, persuade, influence and negotiate with respect to Managed Care contracting initiatives, as well as within Operations Department and among other support departments; have a proven ability to understand and foresee corporate implications of subtle detail changes; have a proven ability to identify and implement cross-functional process improvements; be detail-oriented and well organized; have proven ability to track issues and follow through on resolution; have ability to read, analyze, interpret and use complex business documents, contracts, regulations, policies and procedures; and have strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.

 

Communication and interpersonal skills must include demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and tactfully to internal and external contacts and physicians to present and obtain sensitive information.

 

Must have the ability to exercise sound business judgment within general company policies.

 

Must possess highly effective time management and organizational skills to independently manage team to achieve multiple objectives according to high quality standards.

 

Must be able to work effectively within a team environment.

 

 

 

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare, or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree as outlined below. In lieu of degree, 9 years previous experience in areas of managed care or healthcare operations.

 

Experience:

Must have previous supervisory experience is required. 

 

Requires minimum of 5 years previous experience in areas of managed care or healthcare operations.

 

Must have familiarity with Managed Care contracts and Payor Polices, contract integrity, price transparency and advanced understanding of claims issues and root cause analysis.

 

Must have strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills.

 

Preferred Education: Graduate Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare or JD.
