We understand you have invested time and resources into becoming a great nurse. Likewise, Mercy wants to invest in you as you answer your calling!

 

Mercy OR conducts a variety of cases including Orthopedics, Neurology, General Services. RNs are typically hired into one of these specialty pods, and may have the opportunity to cross-train to other pods in the department. 

 

Proposed Schedule: Three 12s, Four 10s or Five 8s (Days)

 

 

The RN First Assistant practices perioperative nursing and has acquired the knowledge, skills, and judgment through organized instruction and supervised practice to first or second assist the surgeon in the operating room. The intraoperative activities of the RN first assistant must be supervised by a surgeon.

 

Qualifications:

  • Licensure: Must have either a current RN Temporary Permit/RN license in the State of Missouri.
  • Experience: Must have minimum of 1 year intraoperative experience.
  • Certifications:
    • CNOR and RN-First Assistant class required within one year of hire/transfer.
    • BLS/ACLS required within first year.
  • Preferred Education: BSN Degree.
  • Preferred Experience: Three (3) or more years intraoperative experience.
  • Preferred Certifications: CNOR, CRNFA.
