Find your calling at Mercy! The Co-worker Health Supervisor functions under direction of Co-worker Health leadership to oversee operations of multiple Co-worker Health locations. The supervisor will have direct reports and functional oversight of both Co-worker Health and Workers' Compensation efforts. This role will require travel to and from multiple Mercy locations on a regular basis.

The supervisor is responsible for planning, coordination, implementation and evaluation of daily operations and signature service. Serves as a clinical resource for department caregivers and functions as a nurse in the department as needed. Overview

Mercy is seeking a compassionate and experienced healthcare professional to serve as our Supervisor, Co-Worker Health. In this leadership role, you will oversee the daily operations of multiple Co-Worker Health locations, supporting the health, safety, and well-being of Mercy co-workers across the region.

Reporting to Co-Worker Health leadership, you will provide direct supervision to team members while guiding occupational health and workers' compensation initiatives. This position requires regular travel between Mercy locations and offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on caregiver health and workplace safety.

What You'll Do
  • Lead the day-to-day operations of multiple Co-Worker Health locations.
  • Support the implementation of regional and ministry-wide occupational health initiatives and strategies.
  • Oversee services including:
    • Pre-employment health screenings
    • Workplace injury assessment and care coordination
    • Workers' Compensation processes and protocols
    • Immunization compliance programs
    • Respirator fit testing
    • Hazardous drug surveillance programs
    • Communicable illness management
    • General employee health services
  • Supervise team workflow, provide coaching and guidance, and resolve operational issues while keeping leadership informed of departmental needs and concerns.
  • Manage the performance and development of direct reports through regular feedback, coaching, skills development, performance reviews, and career growth planning.
  • Identify staffing needs, recruit and onboard new team members, and support ongoing training and development.
  • Serve as a clinical resource to department caregivers and provide direct patient care when needed.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners including Human Resources, Infection Prevention, Leave Administration, Workers' Compensation, Quality & Safety, vendors, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure all responsibilities are performed in alignment with Mercy's mission, values, and service standards.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Required Education & Experience

  • Graduate of a state-approved clinical program.
  • Licensed or certified clinician.
  • Minimum of five years of clinical practice experience.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active nursing license issued by the State Board of Nursing.
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience.
  • COHN or COHN-S certification (Certified Occupational Health Nurse or Certified Occupational Health Nurse-Specialist).
Skills & Abilities
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities with limited supervision.
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Strong collaboration and relationship-building abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Teams, Word, and Excel.
