NASCAR seeks a talented professional to join in the position of GenAI Developer based in our Charlotte, North Carolina office.

This person is responsible for spearheading the creation and implementation of cutting-edge generative AI solutions for both enterprise-level initiatives and fan-facing experiences. The Developer utilizes strong technical expertise, analytical skills, creativity, and passion for sports to deliver novel, game-changing innovations that drive deeper fan engagement and operational efficiency.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Drive broader adoption of GenAI across the organization, working closely with business units to identify further integration points.
  • Co-create a scalable blueprint for working with AI technologies, whether through vendor-supplied products or custom-built solutions, to support engineering and product teams.
  • Assist in shaping and advancing the enterprise GenAI strategy and roadmap, focusing on specific technologies/products and articulating their value proposition to secure buy-in from senior leadership.
  • Support a balanced approach to AI, blending in-house capabilities with external expertise, including vendors and specialists, to create innovative solutions that drive fan engagement and improve internal efficiencies.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders to analyze their business processes and identify opportunities for streamlining and automation using AI-driven solutions.
  • Perform feasibility assessments and proof-of-concept (PoC) initiatives to evaluate the relevance and effectiveness of AI techniques for various enterprise use cases.
  • Develop and deploy AI-driven tools and solutions for enterprise use and fan engagement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and marketing, to build AI-enhanced features for fan-facing products.
  • Experiment with creative use cases for AI, such as personalized fan experiences, predictive analytics, and content generation.
  • Integrate AI models with existing systems, ensuring scalability and reliability for both internal and external platforms.
  • Monitor and evaluate emerging trends and tools in generative AI and incorporate the latest technologies from providers such as OpenAI, Microsoft, Anthropic, NVIDIA, and others.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to align AI projects with broader organizational goals and strategies.
  • Participate actively in the cross-functional GenAI Working Group, offering insights on emerging large language models (LLMs), responsible AI practices, vendor solutions, open-source tools, and other initiatives across the organization.
  • Continuously monitor advancements in GenAI solutions and vendor offerings, with a focus on identifying tools that enhance internal workflows and drive value for enterprise use cases.
  • Ensure the ethical use of AI technologies by adhering to the best practices in AI development and deployment.
  • Work alongside internal teams such as IT, HR, and external partners to support the development and execution of training programs, ensuring staff can effectively leverage AI tools and services.
  • Provide documentation and training to ensure team members and stakeholders understand how to leverage AI-driven systems.
  • Travel: 5%, including weekends.
  • This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Required skills / experience:

  • Bachelor's degree+ in computer science, Engineering, AI/ML, or a related technical field with a minimum of three (3) years related experience in AI/ML development, with a focus on generative AI solutions. Experience with sport-related technology or a passion for sports innovation is highly desirable.
  • Proficient in modern software development practices and tools, including AI/ML frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Hugging Face.
  • Experience with cloud-based AI services such as Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud.
  • Skilled in working with version control (Git), continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, and using data management platforms for AI model training and deployment.
  • Familiarity with generative AI tools and platforms from industry leaders like Microsoft, OpenAI, Anthropic, and NVIDIA.
  • Experience with natural language processing (NLP), large language models (LLMs), and computer vision applications.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, Java, C++, or other relevant languages for AI development.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud, particularly for AI/ML services.
  • Proficiency with the latest tools and technologies from AWS, Microsoft, OpenAI, Anthropic, NVIDIA, and other AI leaders.
  • Experience with Database queries and data retrieval including NoSQL, graph databases, semi-structured & unstructured data storage and data retrieval techniques.
  • Experience with prompt engineering and fine-tuning large language models.
  • Ability to think outside the box and develop innovative solutions to enhance fan engagement and improve internal efficiencies.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and AI model evaluation techniques to continuously improve AI-driven solutions.
  • Familiarity with predictive analytics, recommendation engines, and generative design.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally to bring AI-driven ideas to life.
  • Passion for finding new ways to engage fans through technology.
  • Ability to quickly adjust to new challenges and evolving AI technologies.
  • Ability to use data-driven insights to inform decisions and optimize AI models.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with external partners.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends for eNASCAR events as needed.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in building AI solutions that drive user engagement and business value.
  • Experience with version control systems (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and agile software development practices.
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Skilled in conveying technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, ensuring clarity and fostering collaboration.
  • Enthusiasm for engaging in NASCAR-related content and conversations, including attending events.
