Job Description: Your Piece of the Puzzle

 

The Grandscape Stage A/V Technician position is responsible for Event Coordination and the A/V Equipment Management aspects of the Stage.  Additionally, working in this capacity includes assisting with larger A/V-related responsibilities working with our internal Technician staff.  This position possesses solid working knowledge of A/V systems and is able to address technical issues that may arise.  May act in a leadership role with the A/V team and internal and external partners.

 

Job Duties: A Day in Life

 

  • Collaborate: Work collaboratively with Event Coordinators helping with the planning of various events, rentals and concerts including event details, logistics, timelines, etc. in advance of the event date
  • Join: Connect with performers on technical needs for each event, reviewing music and graphics as necessary
  • Achieve: Fulfill performer hospitality needs and artist rider specifications (ground transportation, hotel information, green room set up, etc)
  • Oversee: Manage all Grandscape owned sound, lighting and video equipment to ensure everything is working properly
  • Follow Up: Check to ensure all equipment is working properly following severe weather conditions, power outages/surges or as system updates are required – address and remedy all issues as needed
  • Support: Assist A/V Technician staff with support solutions for all A/V experiences including the digital signage and audio network – perform regular system monitoring of all digital signage and audio experiences and respond to alerts as required
  • Partner: Work with A/V Technician staff acting as the first line of defense to troubleshoot issues to keep digital signage and audio experiences up and running on a daily basis

Qualifications: Can You Check These Boxes?

 

  • High School diploma or GED preferred
  • Accreditation from a technical school or an applicable skilled trades program preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in a Stage Management or A/V/IT technician role or equivalent experience in a related field
  • Knowledge and experience working with digital signage and audio content management and control system software.  System specific training is to be provided
  • Experience supporting integrated digital signage and audio networks. Understanding of hardware and software solutions
  • Ability to troubleshoot, repair and replace hardware, act as a field technician to resolve issues. Commercial installation and event A/V experience preferred
  • Knowledge of installing, configuring and maintaining all manners of A/V hardware, end-user devices and associated network equipment
  • Lift test requirement: ability to lift, push, pull required weights per established requirements for the department
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
  • Ability to communicate in an understandable, polite and friendly manner, both written and verbal
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
  • Experience managing multiple projects and deadlines
  • Ability to work nights, weekends and/or early morning hours based on business needs
