Description

The Law & Regulation Associate Staff Attorney provides legal advice and support to NJM's Contract Management and Regulatory Compliance teams, as well as NJM's Corporate and General Counsel.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review of third party and vendor agreements

  • Provide legal advice to business units on contract related issues and collaborate with Vendor Management in the negotiation and execution of contracts

  • Provide regulatory guidance to stakeholders enterprise-wide to ensure legal compliance

  • Support internal business unit initiatives and assist with maintaining and improving internal policies and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance

  • Assist Law and Regulation management with regulatory, rate and form filings  

Required Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctorate degree required

  • License to practice law in the state of New Jersey is required

  • 0-5 years of legal and/or property casualty insurance experience

  • Critical thinking skills and business judgment

  • Ability to work independently on projects

  • Strong communication skills

  • Ability to make decisions, propose solutions, and solve problems

  • Experience managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines

  • Strong relationship-building skills and a commitment to customer service

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Property and casualty insurance experience  

  • Experience handling contracts and/or regulatory matters

  • Admitted to practice law in New York or Pennsylvania

Compensation: Salary is commensurate with experience and credentials.

Pay Range: $101,415-$127,862
