Description

At NorthBay Health the Central Service Technician is accountable to the administrative director and is responsible for completing assigned tasks associated with providing patient care supplies and equipment.

Primary Job Duties

  • Cleans surgical instrumentation/equipment for reassemble and issue.

  • Assembles surgical instrumentation and case carts.

  • Operates equipment necessary for reprocessing instrumentation and equip­ment.     

  • Completes Quality Assurance documentation for each sterilization load.      

  • Inventories and restocks supply locations using available technology.

  • Applies a proficient skill level in all CS assignments.

  •  Communicates departmental activity to oncoming shift.

  • Responsible for working relationships.

  • Organizational standards for accrediting agencies, Patient Safety and the Department of Health will be met or exceeded.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:  

  • High school graduate. 
  • Completion of a formalized training program in Central Service or Surgical technology required.

Experience

  • Two years Central Service or Operating Room with computer data entry experience preferred and the completion of a formalized training program in Central Service or Surgical technology. 
  • Certification as a Central Service Technician required within six months of employment. 
  • Basic arithmetic skills.

Compensation: 

  • Hourly Salary Range $33.12 - $40.18(Offered hourly rate based on years of experience)
  • 10% per diem differential included in salary range
  • Plus, Generous Shift Differentials
