Description

At NorthBay Health, the Vice President of Clinical Excellence oversees quality improvement, patient safety, and clinical outcomes strategy across the Ambulatory Division, defining care standards, driving innovation, and fostering a learning culture. Responsible for clinical operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, managing budgets, and leading interdisciplinary teams.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Patient Safety/Risk Management

    1. Patient Care Event Reviews

    2. Facilitation of RCA for Serious Safety Events

    3. Grievance management

  • Quality Monitoring

    1. Quality Data (MIPS, PHP, etc.)

    2. OPPE Program Management

    3. Peer Review Facilitator

  • Infection Prevention

    1. Environmental Risk Assessment

    2. Environment of Care Event Review

    3. Emergency Preparedness

  • Orientation & Onboarding

    1. New/Department Specific Orientation

    2. Competency Validation

  • Practice

    1. Policy and Procedures

    2. New Site Activations

    3. Instrument/Equipment Sterilization and Processing

    4. CLIA/POCT

    5. Equipment Tracking

    6. Billing Optimizations

    7. Scope of Practice 

  • Continuous Readiness

    1. Monitor Regulatory Compliance

    2. Quarterly Site Assessments

    3. Medical Waste Management

  • Strategic Leadership:

    1.  Develop and implement clinical strategies, evidence-based practices, and patient-centered care models.

  • Quality & Safety: 

    1. Monitor clinical performance metrics (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement, and lead patient safety initiatives.

    2. Liaison with Employee Health and ensure system vaccine programs are optimized

  • Staff Development: 

    1. Mentor staff, promote professional growth, and ensure clinical education. 

  • Other duties as assigned



Qualifications

Education: Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration or Nursing.

Experience: Minimum of ten years of progressive leadership experience in ambulatory operations and quality.  Experience in physician practice management as an executive or in a senior level position.

Compensation: $285 to $310k annually based on years of experience doing the duties of the role.  Bonus eligible.
