Summary of Position

Manages and performs work associated with analysis, design, implementation, operation, deployment, security, and support of the organization's Information Technology Resources.  This includes Full Stack software development of IT Infrastructure, implemented as code, through automated deployment technologies.  Operation and reliability challenges are addressed through programmatic, repeatable processes and functions in accordance with NRECA's DevSecOps culture and practices. Success is results driven by providing the highest levels of security, reliability, and availability 24x7 in support of the business. This is a Hybrid position located in Arlington, VA.

Key Responsibilities  
•    Provides technical guidance on IT infrastructure development to relevant business areas.
•    Develops strategy and standards for NRECA's compute stack across on-prem and cloud environments.
•    Advises leaders on complex issues, driving process improvements with minimal oversight.
•    Engineers integrated systems using code to connect network, security, storage, and applications.
•    Collaborates with Application teams to improve infrastructure as code and system performance.
•    Integrates diverse cloud and vendor technologies to maximize fault tolerance and redundancy.
•    Sets quarterly strategy and key results aligned with organization

Qualifications

Required Qualifications and Skills
•    Formal Education Required: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Systems and Technology, Business Administration, or related field.
•    5+ years of progressive experience in IT systems engineering and security to include:

  • 3+ years in IT Infrastructure development with emphasis on automation solutions
  • 1+ years of full stack infrastructure as code development using Terraform

•    Experience with system backup and recovery, conducting disaster recovery tests and documenting results.
•    Proven experience with DevSecOps practices and information security principles across cloud and on-prem environments
•    Proficiency in infrastructure automation and configuration tools such as Terraform, Atlantis, CloudFormation, Ansible or GitHub
•    Strong coding skills in Python, Go, or JavaScript, with hands-on expertise in virtualization platforms (VMware, AWS, Azure, GCP) and both Microsoft and Linux Operating Systems.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills  
•    Preferred certifications include Microsoft, Juniper, Palo Alto, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Redhat and Terraform

Essential Physical Requirements
•    The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal and extensive reading.

•    Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.
