Summary:

Evaluate, develop, and implement specified training and development programs and initiatives to meet assessed needs for the Purchasing Department.


Responsibilities:

  • Must submit at least two (2) work product examples of training developed with visual aids/reference materials with application. 
  • Assess, Plan, develop, and deliver or coordinate the delivery of individual and/or group training and instructional programs, encompassing a wide range of technical, operational, management, and/or other skills areas according to assessed needs.
  • Collaborate with various departments and subject matter experts to assess training needs and identify gaps in knowledge and skills.
  • Develop or oversee the development of training curricula; formulate or review training outlines and determine appropriate instructional methodologies and formats; evaluate and recommend incorporation of vendor programs, as appropriate to meet overall training goals and objectives.
  • Create and prepare teaching and visual aids, instructional materials, computer tutorials, and reference materials appropriate to specific program training objectives.
  • Coordinate, facilitate, and/or conduct specified development activities, such as planning change management, retreats, strategic programming or continuous improvement projects and activities.
  • Evaluate effectiveness of training and development programs and utilizes relevant evaluation data to revise or recommend changes in instructional objectives and methods.
  • Assist in the planning, assessment, and implementation of departmental goals and objectives, consistent with the strategic direction of the Oneida Nation.
  • Assist in the development, creation, and revision of Purchasing departmental business documents to include procedural manual, rulemaking, newsletters, and other related documents.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) in procurement policies and procedures, providing guidance in design, development, and delivery of training programs.
  • Ensure training content accurately reflects current procurement regulations, organizational policies, and industry best practices. Updating training materials in response to policy changes, audit findings, or identified knowledge gaps.
  • Provide Train the Trainer sessions to all business units based on need
  • Participate as a team member on multi-department projects that affect your area of responsibility through planning, assessing, developing, implementing, and measuring the project tasks
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by conducting research, attending seminars, educational workshops, classes, and conferences; reviewing professional publications; establishing networks; participating in professional societies; conferring with representatives of contracting agencies and related organizations.
  • Always provide excellent customer service for all internal and external customers of the operations and in all activities. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all internal and external customers. Provide solutions for customer concerns and continually focus on customer service as our top priority.
  • Develop, maintain, and facilitate effective relationships, communications processes and activities with all personnel and all other internal and external customers. Attend department meetings to ensure effective communications take place
  • Assist and participate in continuous improvement teams as assigned.

  • Ability to analyze training needs and develop appropriate learning objectives and assessments.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple training projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and multimedia tools and database software.
  • Proficiency in using e-learning authoring tools and learning management systems.
  • Skilled in technical writing and ability to communicate efficiently and effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong commitment to professional development and staying current with industry trends and best practices.

Must be willing and able to obtain additional related education and training.

Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and adhere to the Nation Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace Policy.

A Tuberculosis (TB) Screening and/or a 2 step TB Skin Test is required within thirty (30) days of employment.

Must provide a copy of diploma/degree, license, or certification upon employment.
