The Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC) is a non-profit, private higher education institution in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Working on assigned shifts, you will provide proactive and reactive security patrols and response to incidents. You will be required to write reports and investigate routine incidents, as well as respond to emergencies in a quick and efficient manner. In this role, it is essential that you are physically fit and able to stand and walk for long periods of time.
Position: Part-Time Security Guard
Site: Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College, 6100 Leslie Street, North York, ON M2H3J1
Hours: Friday - Saturday | 2300-1100
Payrate: $18.25/hr
Averaging Agreement: Overtime is Employment Standards Act (ESA) after 40 hours

Key responsibilities:
- Monitor and patrol the premises to ensure safety and security.
- Perform regular security checks of the property, including parking areas, entrances, exits, and other designated areas.
- Maintain a visible presence to deter unauthorized access or unlawful activities.
- Control access at entry points and ensure only authorized personnel enter the premises.
- Respond to alarms, disturbances, or emergencies and take appropriate actions as needed.
- Assist in the enforcement of company policies and procedures, including monitoring and reporting any suspicious activities
- Report any incidents, accidents, or security breaches promptly to the management team.
- Complete daily logs and security reports, documenting any unusual occurrences.
- Provide assistance to employees, visitors, and vendors as needed.
- Monitor surveillance cameras and security equipment, ensuring they are functioning properly.
- Cooperate with local law enforcement, emergency services, and other authorities when necessary.
- Ensure all safety equipment is properly maintained and ready for use.
Comfortable in a morgue setting (An environment where deceased bodies may be present)
Prerequisites:
- Valid Security License for the province of Ontario
- Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor)
- Covid Vaccine two doses
- Valid G class Driver License
- English (oral and written) fluency is a must
- Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred.
- Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
- Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
- Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite; however, Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
