Site Description:


Reporting to the Security Operations Lead, the Mobile Officer is integral to the functioning of Paladins field operations and business continuity. In this dynamic role, officers are required to have superior time management and multitasking skills, as well as a propensity for a high level of customer service. Mobile officers are required to work independently while maintaining coordination amongst coworkers; they are required to be both flexible and adaptable. 

Position Details:

Position:  Casual Security Guard
Site: Mobile Patrols, St. John's area
Overtime: Overtime after 48 hours
Hours: As Needed
Payrate: $ 19.00/hour
Posting Date: May 21st, 2025
Internal Closing Date: June 15th, 2025
External Closing Date: June 15, 2025

Schedule Example:

  • Week 1 - Days - Mon-Tues, Fri-Sat
  • Week 2 - Days - Sun, Wed-Thu
  • Week 3 - Nights - Mon-Tues, Fri-Sat
  • Week 4 - Nights - Sun, Wed-Thu

Key responsibilities:

 
Documenting incidents through accurate reporting procedures. 

Completion of site investigations following alarm responses. 


Support static security officers in the assigned areas as needed. 


Regular foot and vehicle patrols. 


Performing opening and closing of client premises.

 
Responding professionally to requests from Client Service Managers on a regular basis. 


Maintain Paladins professional image by demonstrating strong deportment, care for vehicles, and officer presence. 


Monitor property and events as per client instructions. 
Perform other duties as required and/or requested. 

  • Patrol Hospital Grounds: Conduct regular rounds of hospital premises, including parking areas, hallways, patient rooms, entrances, and exits, to ensure the safety and security of the site.
  • Monitor Surveillance Systems: Operate security cameras and alarm systems, ensuring any suspicious activity is reported immediately to the appropriate authorities.
  • Access Control: Monitor and control entry points to the hospital, ensuring that only authorized individuals are allowed access to restricted areas.
  • Respond to Emergencies: Act quickly in emergency situations, such as medical emergencies, fire alarms, or security threats. Assist hospital staff as needed during crises and evacuations.
  • Provide Customer Service: Greet and assist visitors, patients, and hospital staff. Provide directions and ensure that guests adhere to hospital policies and procedures.
  • Conflict Resolution: De-escalate tense situations, resolve conflicts, and ensure that all interactions are handled calmly and professionally.
  • Report Writing: Document daily activities, incidents, or accidents accurately. Complete reports on incidents, breaches, and security concerns.
  • Collaboration with Hospital Staff: Work closely with hospital staff and local law enforcement to provide a coordinated security effort and ensure the safety of all parties involved.
  • Enforce Hospital Policies: Ensure that hospital policies, including visitor and patient protocols, are followed. Address any violations in a manner that upholds hospital safety standards

Prerequisites:

  • Valid Security License for the province of Ontario
  • Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a CSA-approved vendor)
  • Covid Vaccine two doses
  • Immunization records for Mumps, Measles, Rubella, Varicella and two step TB skin test
  • Valid G class Driver License
  • English (oral and written) fluency is a must
  • Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred.
  • Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (
