The Royal British Columbia Museum is one of Paladin's most prestigious sites on Vancouver Island, providing a dynamic, challenging and social work environment for Security Officers to develop invaluable skills in the industry. We are currently looking for an Assistant Supervisor (2IC) to assist the Site Supervisor with operational and supervisory duties at the site level. This is a fantastic opportunity for those with security and leadership experience. This position is full-time, days, afternoons and weekends.
Wage: $21.50-$27.50/hour
Currently we have 2 positions open with slightly different assignments but similar in nature.
Job Skills/Requirements
- The Assistant Supervisor will assist the Site Supervisor with:
- Developing short and long term goals and objectives, ensuring that such plans support the policies and vision of Paladin Security.
- Maintaining and evaluating the security program for The Royal British Columbia Museum contract.
- Initiating and/or assessing projects tasked to various staff members.
- Scheduling officers to ensure the company's contractual obligations are met.
- Taking ownership of staff and client issues and supporting both parties in a timely manner.
- Developing and maintaining strong relationships with The Royal BC Museum client through clear communication.
- Ensuring employees adhere to site training and orientation programs.
- Reviewing daily and nightly reports and taking appropriate action as required.
- Reporting any and all deficiencies to the Site Supervisor and/or Client Service Manager.
- Supporting the Royal BC Museum and Paladin programs by attending education/awareness sessions as required.
- Preparing and conducting probationary reviews.
- Issuing verbal and written warnings as needed, with the approval of management.
- Maintaining the Occupational Health & Safety program through review and report completion.
- Taking a lead role in designing and executing emergency preparedness drills.
- Preparing monthly KPI reports for client perusal.
Requirements
- Valid BC Security License and related Royal BC Museum requirements, including but not limited to First Aid, MOAB, Oxygen Therapy, Fire Extinguisher Training, WHMIS, etc.
- Working knowledge of The Royal BC Museum post orders and emergency response plan.
- Strong leadership, organizational and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software and ability to learn new computer programs and equipment.
- Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships.
