Position: | Security Guard - Full-Time - Lanark Country Mental Health
Site: | Lanark Country Mental Health - 9 Armstrong Dr Smiths Falls
Hours: | Various
Payrate: | $21.48 hourly
Overtime Method: | Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours
Start Date: July 8, 2025

Job Responsibilities:
- Present a smart, visible, and alert security presence
- Greet, assist, and direct members of the public visiting the premises
- Ensure the safety & security of clients, buildings, and assets
- Work effectively, both independently and as part of a team
- Carry out all security duties as specified (including, but not limited to):
- Proactive/reactive interior & exterior patrols
- Response & assistance in emergency situations
- Documenting & reporting of any/all security events on shift
- Investigate routine incidents
- Unlock/Lockup of premises
- Policy awareness & enforcement
- Monthly safety inspections
- Additional duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
- Valid Ontario Security Guard License
- Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C Certificate (from a WSIB-approved provider)
- Ability to clear a Vulnerable Sector Check (during onboarding)
- Valid G2 class license
- Reliable vehicle
- Ability to be clean shaven to pass an N95 Mask Fit Test
- Proof of COVID-19 Vaccine (minimum double vaccination)
- Completed immunizations for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis, and a clear TB result are required at the time of hire. Applicants who are not immunized or are otherwise unable to provide their MMR immunity at the time of hire will not be deemed eligible for the position.

- Minimum 6 months healthcare security experience preferred
- Minimum 6 months of non-healthcare security experience preferred
- Must be able to commit to availability for no less than 6 months
- English proficiency (oral & written) is required
- Bilingualism (English/French) is considered an asset
- 6+ months of customer service experience is considered an asset
- Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UoF) and Management of Aggressive Behaviour (MOAB)
- Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
- Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite; however, Paladin will cover all the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
