Overview Job Skills / Requirements

As a Shift Supervisor at this college campus in Downtown Vancouver, you will be responsible for supervising and supporting site Officers on their shift, training new teammates, ensuring daily reports are submitted accurately, helping to fill the site schedule, and more. Your customer service, organization, problem solving, and leadership skills will be essential for success in this role.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 0700-1500hrs or 0800-1600hrs (TBD)

Pay Rate: $21.73/hour

Status: Full-Time

Start Date: mid-February

Requirements: 

  • Minimum of 1 year of work experience in the security industry
  • Prior experience in a supervisory or managerial role is preferred, ideally in the security industry
  • Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and professionalism
  • Ability to function and lead in a highly dynamic environment
  • Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position, which includes but is not limited to foot patrols indoors, outdoors, and in parkades, up and down stairs, and over uneven ground
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada

Responsibilities: 

  • Supervise the assigned Security Officers on shift; support them in their responsibilities and with any security issues in accordance with our policy and procedure
  • Maintain and enforce all Paladin and client policies and procedures on site and ensure the highest standard of our security program 
  • Conduct investigations and perform appropriate follow-ups for all incidents
  • Ensure that each Officer submits complete and accurate daily reports and incident reports; follow up with inaccuracies or omissions
  • Review all site Incident Reports and escalate as required
  • Liaise with various facility and client representatives, while representing both the Paladin Security and our client with the utmost professionalism
  • Assist in site orientation and training of new officers, ensuring site orientation packages and officer review tests are completed within the allotted training period
  • Monitor performance of Officers; document where standards are not being met
  • Perform other duties as required to meet operational needs
