- Patient Experience requirements: Heavy cardiac patient population, CV surgery patients come to PCU after ICU. Perform Q6H head-to-toe assessments, chart each one fully, usual PCU gtts
- The PCU delivers highly individualized care to medical, cardiac, and surgical complex patients requiring intermediate care
- Job Requirements
- Cardiac/telemetry experience, PCU and/or critical care experience
- Advanced skills needed: IV insertion, chest tube management, DHT insertion/management, tracheostomy experience, CVC management, EKG, Foley management, early patient mobility
- Procedures performed on unit: Foley placement, IV insertion, wound vac management, DKA management, EKGs, DHT/NG placement, patient ambulation, ADLs
- Schedule Information
- Scheduling requirements: 3 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule, Self-scheduling, Schedule finalized 2 weeks in advance, Can accommodate block scheduling for night shift
- Floating policy: Travel RNs float first, rotate floating, the oldest float date will float first
