
Description
A Development Project Manager III is responsible for leading delivery teams and supporting modules/product level efforts by implementing scaled agile and/or traditional project practices including leading project and module meetings, implementing best practices, removing/escalating impediments, reporting metrics, driving deadlines, and communicating with stakeholders.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and facilitate projects from kick-off to release by assisting with project tracking, communication, and scope, to completion. Additionally, serve as module/project lead as needed assisting with module-wide project efforts.
- Ensure alignment and balance between the Product Owner and the Project Team and create a safe environment for teams to work together.
- Assist with the development of project plans by creating and maintaining a project breakout and timeline. Assist with coordinating projects within and across multiple modules. Provide constant reporting throughout the lifecycle of team/global projects identifying project description, key event summary, identified challenges, and timeline of each milestone of the project.
- Track, analyze, and present project metrics to management as needed.
- Track, manage, remove, and escalate impediments.
- Coordinate and manage dependencies with shared resources and ensure time management and expectations are met for projects with competing deadlines.
- Lead discussions and implementations on process improvements, team dynamics, reporting, and progress. Identify and mitigate risks that impact multiple delivery teams and/or other projects and recommend opportunities for process improvement to increase efficiency.
- Track team and module maintenance frequently to provide correct and consistent updates to leadership. Assist leadership with tracking and communicating regarding module maintenance as needed.
- Support the Dev PMO group by assisting with onboarding new hires and hosting training opportunities for others in Dev PMO. Be there to assist entry-level project managers as needed.
- Work with project teams to generate and assign work items following the classification guidelines and naming conventions. Collaborate with other project managers, on higher level projects, to ensure that all issues are created and prioritized appropriately. Continue regular communication throughout the lifecycle to capture and manage any change requests.
- Create a project charter and utilize project forecasting to determine potential risk for project timeline and completion. Ensure prompt escalation of impediments and concerns to project stakeholders.
- Create and utilize custom charts/dashboards, Jira plans, and Jira queries for all areas of project reporting. Presents and explains the data with confidence and can answer questions about the data with no difficulty.
Qualifications
MINIMUM BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certification:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience:
- 2+ years working as a project manager, scrum master, product manager, or related role.
- Prior experience leading teams or projects
- Advanced agile or project management certification (ex.: A-CSM, CAPM, PMI-ACP, LSSYB)
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Expert knowledge of industry standard project management practices and ability to disseminate this information to the modules.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in written, verbal, and presentation.
- Ability to demonstrate analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving, and discernment skills.
- Demonstrates organization, planning, decision-making, negotiating, diplomacy, and change management skills.
- Expert knowledge of Jira and Confluence Software.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.
- Ability to manage projects and teams with confidence.
- Must possess proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Skills/Abilities:
- An advanced Project/Program/Portfolio Certification (PMP/PgMP/PfMP, LSSGB or higher, CAPM, CSM)
