Description
The Learning Content Specialist is responsible for creating and maintaining training content and resources, that drive Paycom product usage, employee performance and business results. The multimodal instructional materials will be used for Paycom internal and client training. This individual will collaborate with project stakeholders, subject matter experts (SMEs), department leadership, and colleagues in researching, planning and producing written and visual content.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop high quality learning content, in accordance with business objectives and needs
- Manage project documentation and reporting progress according to team project management standards
- The content needs will vary, but could include the following: write and produce training materials, such as guides, video scripts, screen recordings and more; use a variety of content creation software to design e-learning content that is usable and easily understood by various audiences; and support live facilitators with applicable content
- Maintain Paycom's standard of quality across all learning content
- Maintain project documentation and reporting progress according to team project management standards
- Revise content, as needed, to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance as well as alignment with product or process updates
- Use approved software to upload and deploy learning materials and provide recommendations for improvement in resource deployment methods
- Ensure subject matter expertise is displayed in all Paycom content, including enhancements to existing products as well as new product development
- Use discernment and experience to ensure content is developed in adherence to best practices, and provide content best practice leadership to the organization
- Collaborate and make decisions on accomplishing the goal of the content, in alignment with the business objectives
- Measure effectiveness of content and showcase project leadership
- Analyze data trends and business needs to determine gaps and opportunities for future content as well as effectiveness of current content
- Provide feedback to revise content, as needed, to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance as well as alignment with product or process updates
- Strategic involvement with department-wide projects, including but not limited to product updates and resource expansion.
- Meet KPI expectations displaying effectiveness in resources and project management.
- Has full understanding of Paycom's product suite
Qualifications
Education/Certification:
- Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, English, Communication, Education or art-related field preferred, or a minimum of 4 years in another department at Paycom
Experience:
- 1 year experience in training, technical and/or creative writing
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience:
- Stable work history
- Experience in any of the following:
- Experience in technical writing, instructional design, teaching or training
- Use of e-learning authoring tools such as: Articulate 360 - Storyline and Rise, Adobe Captivate or other
- Use of video editing software such as: Camtasia, Adobe - Premiere and After Effects
- Use of design editing software such as: Adobe - InDesign and Illustrator
Skills/Abilities:
- Basic Project management skills
- Superior command of the English language, including rules and usage; AP Style preferred
- Advanced communication and editing skills, both written and verbal
- Strong analytical, planning, organizational and time management skills
- Strong research skills, including gathering and analyzing data from multiple sources (subject matter experts, project managers) to develop content, training materials and manuals
- Proven ability to generate creative, unique and relevant content
- Proficient computer skills, especially Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment with aggressive deadlines
