You will use your education and experience to leverage industry leading technology and digital tools to help showcase your education and expertise in guiding the company around innovative tax management and compliance best practice approaches at the international, federal, state and local levels. Using your data mining and data literacy capabilities, spearhead efforts surrounding the identification and introduction of innovative approaches that deliver meaningful process improvement and efficiency gains along with solid support documentation practices.

Successful candidates in this role have been quickly promoted to positions with increasing levels of responsibility.

Responsibilities:

Join other innovative and experienced tax professionals as part of the Penske Corporate Tax Team aligned around a mission to providing global tax compliance strategies, innovative tax planning approaches, and expertise surrounding tax risk management – including but not limited to, the following responsibilities:

  • Preparation of the global income tax provision, effective tax rate and related support on a monthly basis according to ASC 740 and US GAAP accounting standards; calculate the balances of deferred tax assets and liabilities and assist with the preparation of footnote disclosures and other reporting requirements on a quarterly basis
  • Perform general ledger tax account analysis and reconciliations
  • Ensure the integrity and maintenance of the global tax provision and income tax account reconciliation processes
  • Assist with FIN48 and SOX404 documentation and compliance requirements.
  • Monitor changes in tax legislation as well as regulations and standards for income tax reporting in financial statements, assess the impact of these changes on the organization, and provide strategic planning and solutions
  • Perform research and develop positions for moderately complex income tax issues; clearly document and communicate findings, both orally and in writing
  • Review and/or prepare, where necessary uncertain tax positions and maintain statute timelines
  • Provide support to management on special tax projects as needed

Who you are and what you will bring:

  • An accounting or finance graduate with 3+ years of income tax experience
  • A curious and continuous learning mindset
  • Skills to analyze and manipulate complex data sets
  • Ability to use digital workflows and tools to accomplish team objectives
  • Process improvement skills to increase efficiency, simplicity and process clarity wherever possible
  • Problem solving skills to analyze issues, identify solutions and implement process changes
  • Communication skills to build relationships and influence process change across the organization
  • CPA certification or candidate preferred. Working on your certification? This position will qualify toward the experience requirement in PA.
  • Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
  • Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, and work at the specific location required
