Location: 100% Travel Required (within US & Canada), based out of Metro Detroit

Position Summary:

We are seeking a transportation professional to support finished vehicle transportation performance improvements through on-site carrier audits. This role requires extensive travel to carrier locations and a strong ability to challenge and collaborate with providers to drive operational excellence.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Travel weekly to various provider locations across US & Canada
  • Perform on-site audits at carrier locations, evaluating assessment criteria and KPIs
  • Coordinate pre-trip meetings with stakeholders to identify performance issues
  • Deliver post-trip reports to stakeholders
  • Conduct annual assessments of finished vehicle transportation providers
  • Track provider responses and compile summary reports
  • Continuously revise and enhance assessment criteria to reflect industry benchmarks
  • Document and follow up on all required action items with providers until resolution
  • Be able to resolve situations quickly, communicate status of problem, and work with the appropriate subject matter expert until it is fixed

Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of carrier operations and performance metrics
  • Proven ability to challenge and influence provider practices
  • Excellent communication, organization, and reporting skills
  • Willingness and ability to travel 100% of the time
  • Strong written and oral communication skills required
  • Proficiency with computers including Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint required
  • Ability to follow process and standard procedures required
  • Must complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required.

Preferred Experience:

  • 5+ years comparable work experience, internships, or studies preferred
  • Prior audit or compliance experience in transportation
  • Familiarity with finished vehicle logistics and OEM standards
