Position Summary:
The Sourcing Manager oversees the end-to-end procurement process specifically for IT-related goods and services, managing supplier relationships and negotiating high-value contracts directly with technology vendors to secure favorable terms and optimize cost efficiency. By leveraging market insights, competitive analysis, and strong negotiation skills within the IT sector, the Sourcing Manager drives significant cost savings while ensuring the consistent delivery of quality hardware, software, and IT services to support the operational and strategic technology needs of the business. Additionally, this position collaborates cross-functionally with internal IT teams and other stakeholders to forecast demand, mitigate supply risks, and continuously improve IT sourcing strategies in alignment with business objectives.
Major Responsibilities:
- Establish and manage cross-functional teams by identifying opportunities, developing deliverables, assigning roles and executing on projects that improve efficiencies and reduce costs for the Sourcing department and its customers
- Research and identify improved and new technologies and determine appropriate applications to process improvements.
- Manage the development requirements by working with or directing department managers and/or SMEs.
- Identify, manage and influence development (prioritization, as well as resolution of issues during development) of strategic process improvement opportunities that will have cross-functional impact for Sourcing and the organization overall
- Generate and execute cost savings strategies in owned categories by coordinating resources, systems enhancements, process improvements, etc.
- Lead and manage associates within the SPI team who perform the work generated through the various business units that SPI supports. Includes goal setting, performance management and overall accountability and performance
- Other projects and tasks assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Supply Chain, Business Management, IT or any related fields required.
- Master's Degree preferred. Black Belt preferred. If no degree, equivalent work experience is required.
- Minimum 7 years experience in enterprise project management skills, including systems, analytical and change management
- Minimum 5 years experience in management of high volume, process-oriented programs, projects in collaboration, planning and indirectly supervising resources and other project members.
- Minimum 5 years experience in People leadership either directly or indirectly.
- Professional presentation skills – all levels, including C- Suite, Executives, and/or business owners.
- Advanced knowledge in financial acumen, analytics and Penske internal system and customers.
- Professional communication skills both verbally and written.
- High capabilities to influence change across the enterprise; strong change management.
- Is a natural self-starter, ability to work independently and has a positive attitude.
- Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
- Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required.
