Summary
Job Summary: Advanced Practice Registered Nurse to provide primary level of care in collaboration with physicians and other members of the health care team to a specific patient population in the outpatient setting. Advanced Practice Registered Nurse to provide care as defined by the Kansas Nurse Practice Act. Advanced Practice Registered Nurse maintains an advanced knowledge base and skills in health promotion and maintenance, disease prevention, physical and psychosocial assessment, and management of health and illness in the health care of individuals. Must be licensed as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse. Obtains detailed history and performs physical examinations. Performs or orders X-rays, laboratory tests and other diagnostic procedures and interprets results. Administers such therapeutic procedures as injections, immunizations, suturing and wound care. Instructs patients on prescribed therapeutic regimens, home care and health maintenance. Maintains, in real time, required records and writes progress notes on patient charts as to status, treatments and procedures using electronic medical records.
Qualifications: Graduated from an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse program is required. Must be licensed by the Kansas State Board of Nursing as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse. Current BLS, ACLS and PALS required. Must be willing to practice in a rural setting. Experienced in treating a variety of patients and medical conditions preferred.
