Job Summary
Plans, coordinates, implements, and evaluates a variety of recreation programs and services to meet patient needs for social, physical, and cognitive functioning.Accountabilities
- Works with patients in groups and individually to assess therapy needs and develop appropriate activities, programs, and treatments processes.
- Documents treatment, evaluation, and patient progress as required by the department.
- Ensures maintenance of equipment in safe and proper working order; reports unsafe conditions and requests repairs as necessary.
- Provides oversight to RTA, technical support, students and volunteers.
- Participates in studies to determine needs for new programs or services, develops and recommends new programs for identified patient needs.
- Collaborates with an interdisciplinary treatment team to provide patient care; attend patient treatment meetings.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
Supervisory/Management Responsibility
This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Recreational Therapy
Required Certifications/Registrations/Licenses
CTRS certification through NCTRC (Lawson Code CTRS)
In Lieu Of The Above Minimum Requirements
Team members employed in this job prior to July 1, 2020 are grandfathered under prior educational and experience requirements. In addition, team members must be certification eligible and will have one year to obtain required certification.
Other Required Skills and Experience
Experience with event coordination preferred.
