Schedule Details: Requires shift rotation to accommodate interpreting needs on various shifts: Monday through Friday, 19:00-00:00+, weekends 06:00-15:00, and 15:00-00:00+. Other shifts as needed. The expectation is to work 14 hours per 2-week schedule. This is a on call/ pool position, candidate would need to report to WMH, MUK, and OMH ED/Inpatient areas within 30 minutes of the request.CCHI/IMIA certifications are a plus but not required. We will support getting certification and some CEUs to maintain certification. Must have completed a medical interpreter program. 

 

What You Will Do:

Conducts medical and general interpreting for staff, patients and their families. Assesses and monitors patients' understanding of information conveyed. Records and monitors interpretation activities according to hospital and department standards. May be required to translate written documents. Perform a variety of interpretation and coordination services to assist non-English speaking patients, the deaf and hearing-impaired patients receiving care within the ProHealth Care system

 

Requirements:

  • Ability to write and speak well English and Spanish. Able to function independently.
  • Technical Diploma for Medical Interpreter, from an accredited institution.
