Job Description

We are looking for a Generator Technician to join our Warshauer Electric Supply team in Tinton Falls, NJ!

 

Summary:
The Generator Technician is responsible for preventative maintenance, emergency service, and repair of standby power generators. This role will diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair all components of the generator and automatic transfer switches.

What You'll Do:

 

  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs of standby generators
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair all components of the generator and ATS
  • Document all installed equipment upon arrival of service: make, model, serail number, type of fuel, necessary test measurements, and pictures as necessary
  • Perform start-ups on new power generation equipment
  • Perform warranty work on power generation equipment
  • Process required maintenance and work order paperwork on a timely manner
  • Ensure that all warranty work orders are prepared properly according to warranty policies and that all warranty parts are tagged and turned in
  • Responsible for parts inventory on service truck
  • Participate in the rotating responsibility of a 24/7 on-call technician rotation
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

What You'll Need

  • 1+ years of experience with working on internal combustion engines, including diesel, natural gas, gas, and propane fuel systems
  • Experience driving a service truck, managing inventory, and interacting directly with commercial or residential clients
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must pass a pre-employment and annual review of the Motor Vehicle Record
  • Must not have had their driver's license suspended for traffic accidents/violations within the past 3 years
  • Must not have any at fault accidents in the past 3 years
  • High School or GED - Preferred
  • Other - Preferred
  •  
  • Trade School

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • A strong understanding if internal combustion engines, AC and DC circuitry, and wiring schematics

For the state of New Jersey only, the pay range is $21.00 to $27.00, depending upon qualifications, experience and other considerations permitted by law.
