Job Description

We are looking for a Supervisor Payroll to join our Rexel team in Dallas, TX! (Hybrid)

Summary:
Payroll Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end payroll cycle and ensuring accurate, timely payroll delivery and reporting. This role supervises payroll operations and supports key integrations including third-party interfaces, timekeeping, garnishments, tax compliance/filings, accounting, and benefits. The Payroll Supervisor serves as a primary point of contact for internal partners and stakeholders, provides day-to-day guidance to payroll team members, and drives process improvements to strengthen controls, compliance, and service delivery.

What You'll Do:

 

  • Supervise and execute full-cycle payroll processing and associated payroll programs with high accuracy and on-time delivery.
  • Review and approve payroll inputs/outputs, including timekeeping imports, system uploads, third-party feeds, and off-cycle activity.
  • Conduct and oversee pre- and post-payroll reconciliations; validate results and provide final approval/sign-off prior to payroll completion.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex payroll issues affecting individuals or groups; perform root cause analysis and implement sustainable corrective actions.
  • Serve as escalation point for Payroll Specialists and Service Center agents as needed; provide coaching, guidance, and quality oversight to ensure consistent processing.
  • Partner closely with Tax, Benefits, HR, Accounting, IT, and external vendors to ensure compliant and seamless end-to-end payroll operations.
  • Support payroll compliance activities, including garnishments, tax filings, audits, and adherence to federal/state/local payroll regulations.
  • Lead requirements gathering for payroll-related changes, coordinate testing, validate results, and provide final review/approval for payroll system enhancements.
  • Produce and/or oversee payroll reporting, including recurring operational reports and ad-hoc reporting upon request.
  • Participate in and/or lead payroll projects (process improvement, system upgrades, integrations, year-end readiness, controls enhancements).
  • Maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders and key business partners; model strong customer service.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

What You'll Need

  • 8+ years of hands-on payroll processing experience, preferably in a large organization (approximately 8,000+ employees).
  • Demonstrated ability to accurately and timely complete all payroll processing responsibilities in a high-volume environment.
  • Prior experience leading, coaching, or supervising payroll staff strongly preferred.
  • ADP experience preferred.
  • Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC), or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred
  • High School or GED - Required
  • 4 Year / Bachelor's Degree - Preferred
  •  
  • Accounting, Finance, Human Resources or related field

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of payroll processes, controls, and reporting systems.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and ability to professionally handle escalations.
  • Excellent organization and multi-tasking skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical/problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis and process improvement.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain payroll concepts clearly to non-payroll partners.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with PCs, email/internet tools, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • High level of discretion with confidential and sensitive information.
