Position Summary

As our new Director of Engineering, you will be part of our central office working on a wide range of projects nationwide.  We are seeking a Director of Engineering with 10+ years of experience in the engineering fields to help lead our Company growth and direction.

 

Typical Responsibilities

  • Manage consultant engineering design professionals and provide engineering oversight.
  • Lead the preparation and review of engineering and construction documents.
  • Direct the preparation and review of calculations and designs for engineering systems and detailed drawings.
  • Analyze design requirements, specifications, and performance requirements.
  • Interface/coordinate with other professional disciplines.
  • Manage fees, scope and schedule requirements.
  • Responsible for the technical accuracy and completeness of engineering documentation.
  • Undertake constructability analyses and reviews.
  • Support sustainability objectives, methods and technologies.
  • Prepare material takeoffs and estimates for use in design processes.
  • Conduct due diligence on business initiatives.
  • Assist in contract negotiations.
  • Assist in governmental relations.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Architectural or Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university.
  • Professional Engineering registration required.
  • 10+ years of structural engineering design experience with supervisory experience in project management.
  • Experience in residential design and construction.
  • Proficiency with codes and standards relevant to engineering design and building construction as well as material specific design codes.
  • Sustainability methods and technologies experience.
  • High degree of competence and understanding of building materials, techniques and processes.
  • Previous quantity surveying and estimating experience preferred.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Proactive in addressing problem issues, presenting and implementing solutions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • High level of written and verbal communication skills.

Compensation

  • Base Salary: $165,000- $185,000
  • FLSA Status: Exempt
  • Bonus Type: Year-end Discretionary
