RVCC is looking to hire a Human Resources Assistant! River Valley Counseling Center, Inc#s mission is to improve the health of all people in our community. Overview of Job Responsibilities: To answer phone calls promptly and courteously and to take and communicate messages accurately. # To serve as a resource and assist prospective and current employees in a knowledgeable fashion and promote a positive image of employment at RVCC. To respond to requests for employment references and employment verification, according to RVCC policy. To assist in maintaining human resources policies, procedures, and systems. To initiate and create HRIS accounts for employees (ex. ADP) To update and maintain highly confidential personnel records in accordance with RVCC policy and applicable regulatory procedures. To maintain and appropriately file records related to performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, work-related injuries, medical documentation, accommodation requests and share with necessary personnel as needed. To complete internal changes/transfers in HRIS systems To assist in creating and managing job templates, job descriptions and job postings/ads To assist in screening and updating application tracking system (ex. Review applicant resumes, send resumes to#hiring managers, etc.) To assist and partner with Program Directors, Supervisors#and Hiring Managers regarding HR needs including but not limited to hiring and recruiting needs To assist with RVCC sponsored recreation and social programs that market the Human Resources Department and hiring needs. Including#attending career fairs and other hiring job fairs where you will be required to promote RVCC and our current open positions as well as educate potential candidates about benefits and employment opportunities. To assist with and conduct HR training#as needed (Ex. Supervisor Training, New Staff Orientation Training) To organize and maintain accurate files and records and to retrieve files as necessary. # To handle incoming and outgoing mail, open, sort, and prioritize as may be necessary. To accurately process payment and reimbursement application#as received in a timely manner and ensure appropriate personnel receive copies#(Ex. CEU/Job Related reimbursement applications, Retention payment applications, Tuition reimbursement application, Hiring # Referral Bonus Payments etc.) To maintain an inventory of office and marketing supplies, requisition additional stock as necessary, and ensure that an adequate stock of supplies is available at all times. # To create and distribute documents/reports, including#preparing spreadsheets and compiling data from ADP, typing correspondence, memos, reports, etc. To assist the Human Resources Business Partner with special projects as assigned or directed. # To attend meetings and trainings, as assigned or directed. # Education Level -#High School Diploma or GED Years of Experience - 1#2 years#of Human Resources Experience or secretarial in a mental health agency as an assistant or coordinator with work experience in various computer software programs, including word processing, database and spreadsheet software. Skills/Abilities -#Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to maintain confidential information. In addition, proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Access, proficient in the HRIS system, strong secretarial skills, grammar and spelling proficiency, record keeping skills, knowledge of record retention policies, attention to detail, ability to accurately follow oral and/or written instructions, ability to work within deadlines, good customer relations skills and ability to handle multiple tasks. Candidates must be able to effectively solve problems and possess strong interpersonal skills. Candidates must be able to communicate clearly both written and orally, to communicate with employees, members of the HR management team and in group presentations and meetings.
