- Certification Details
- Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC (may be waived based on experience).
- Job Details
- ER RN 15019 position available.
- - Trauma Level: Stroke and Stemi receiving. Level 2 for adults and peds.
- - # Beds/Trauma Bays: 35 bed - 2 trauma bays.
- - Common diagnoses include a good mix of everything such as GSW, violent crime, strokes, stemi, Mental health, pediatric cases (respiratory illness, fractures), and manage trauma patients.
- - ED Physician/Mid-Levels: Use both. During busiest times, there can be 2 MD and 3 Mid-level providers.
- - Nurse: Patient Ratios: 1:04.
- - Experience required: Must have 1 year of recent experience in the specialty, preferably more. First time travel nurses are considered if they have more than one year total ER experience.
- Job Requirements
- - Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC; TNCC can be waived based on extensive ER experience.
- - Experience in triage using the ESI triage algorithm.
- - Peds experience preferred.
- Schedule Information
- - Shifts & Scheduling: Multiple start times- starting from 5 AM to 9 PM for 12-hour shifts. Schedule is set by the manager with an attempt to accommodate blocks.
- - Weekend Requirements: Every other.
- - Holiday Requirements: Every other.
- Unit Specific Information
- - The ER has 35 beds and 2 trauma bays.
- - Facilities include Fast Track (8-bed) and a separate Triage area.
- - Separate Psych/seclusion rooms are staffed by ER nurses.
- - Security is in-house and housed in the ER during the highest volume times.
- - Roughly 111 patients are treated in the ER per day.
- - Common critical care drips are utilized.
- - Charge Nurse and Team lead are available 24/7.
- - Nurse aids, LPNs, techs, and paramedics are part of the team assisting with tech duties, IVs, blood draws, and EKGs.
- - Respiratory Therapists respond to all codes and cover respiratory tasks but are not housed in the ER.
- - X-Ray and CT facilities are available next door. Nurses transport critical patients, and patients after 9 PM; otherwise, transport personnel are available from 9 AM to 9 PM.
- Additional Details
- - Local Candidates within 20-50 miles will be considered.
- - Department-specific orientation: One 12-hour shift.
- - Scrub Color: Caribbean Blue Scrubs.
