Regular Company: Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center Department: Human Histology Time Type: Full time Weekly Hours: 40 FTE: 1 Shift: First Shift (United States of America) Summary: Processes requests and receives clinical laboratory/clinical research/research specimens within the laboratory sections within department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine; accessions, processes, and routes laboratory testing material to the appropriate testing area; transcribes, prints, sorts, mails, and faxes laboratory reports; handles requests for laboratory reports, specimen tracking, and laboratory requests via phone, email, mail, and other correspondence methods; assists with the performance of laboratory quality control, equipment maintenance, and quality assurance activities; maintains laboratory supply inventories and processes requests for supply orders.Salary range for the Clinical Laboratory Assistant I is $41,399 - $50,884 annually which includes a comprehensive benefits package.
Salary range for the Clinical Laboratory Assistant II is $46,306 - $56,743 annually which includes a comprehensive benefits package. Qualifications: Required Education and Experience for the Clinical Laboratory Assistant I:
1. High School diploma or High School Equivalency diploma and enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program; or
2. High School diploma or High School Equivalency diploma and enrolled in an Associate's degree program; or
3. High School diploma or High School Equivalency diploma and the equivalent of two (2) years of full-time experience in a clinical or research setting requiring the use of medical/laboratory terminology.
Required Education and Experience for the Clinical Laboratory Assistant II:
1. Two (2) years of full-time experience as a Clinical Laboratory Assistant I at Roswell Park; or
2. Bachelor's degree in a healthcare or scientific related field and the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time experience in a clinical or research setting requiring the use of medical/laboratory terminology; or
3. Associate's degree and the equivalent of two (2) years of full-time experience in a comparable medical/clinical setting; or
4. High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma and the equivalent of four (4) years of full-time experience in a clinical or research setting requiring the use of medical/laboratory terminology.
NOTE:
Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited school, college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have the following skills/experiences:
- Previous/Current Experience clinical/medical/laboratory setting
- Knowledge of medical and anatomical terminology
- Previous/current customer service experience
- Proficient in the use of MS office applications
