Title: Mac Administrator - JAMF Specialist

Regular Company: Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center Department: Information Technology Time Type: Full time Weekly Hours: 40 FTE: 1 Shift: First Shift (United States of America) Summary: As a Mac Administrator – JAMF Specialist, this position will focus on support for all Apple computers for the organization. You will ensure a consistent user experience across all Apple devices. You will develop configuration policies, test and document findings, update and effectively communicate procedures. You will also actively create documentation for downstream support teams as well as train Desktop Support on new processes. You would also be keeping up on the Apple and JAMF communities and use the information to improve the Apple/Mac device management across the enterprise.
Responsibilities include:

1. JAMF Configuration and Deployment:
- Configure and deploy Mac computers using JAMF Pro, including initial setup, software installations, and user profiles.
- Create and manage JAMF policies, scripts, and packages to automate software updates, patch management, and system configurations.
- Implement and enforce security policies, encryption, and access controls for Mac devices through JAMF configurations.

2. Software Management and Licensing:
- Manage software licenses and subscriptions for Mac applications, ensuring compliance with licensing agreements and optimizing usage.
- Coordinate with software vendors for procurement, renewal, and updates, maintaining an inventory of licensed software across the organization.

3. Monitoring and Troubleshooting:
- Monitor the health and performance of Mac systems using JAMF tools, logs, and dashboards, proactively identifying and resolving issues.
- Conduct regular system checks, updates, and maintenance tasks to ensure smooth operation and minimize downtime for end-users.

4. Security and Compliance:
- Collaborate with IT security teams to implement and enforce security policies, configurations, and protocols for Mac devices.
- Conduct security audits, vulnerability assessments, and compliance checks for Mac systems, addressing any gaps or vulnerabilities promptly.

5. End-user Support and Training:
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to end-users for Mac-related issues, both onsite and remotely.
- Develop and deliver training sessions, documentation, and resources to educate end-users on Mac best practices, JAMF functionalities, and security awareness.

6. Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain comprehensive documentation, diagrams, and inventories of Mac hardware, software configurations, and JAMF workflows.
- Generate reports, metrics, and insights on Mac system performance, compliance status, and user feedback to inform decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives.

7. Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including IT, operations, and security to align Mac management strategies with organizational goals and priorities.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to Mac administration, JAMF solutions, and IT management, sharing knowledge and insights with colleagues.

Salary range for this position is $88,639 - $111,897 annually which includes a comprehensive benefits package. Qualifications: Required Education and Experience

1. Master's degree and the equivalent of two (2) years of full-time experience in computer system hardware, operating systems and software, enterprise networking or computer systems security as it relates to technology used at the organization; or
2. Bachelor's degree and the equivalent of two (2) years of full-time experience as a Network Technician at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center; or
3. Bachelor's degree and the equivalent of four (4) of full-time experience in computer system hardware, operating systems and software, enterprise networking or computer systems security as it relates to technology used at the organization; or
4. Associates degree and the equivalent of six (6) years of full‐time experience in computer system hardware, operating systems and software, enterprise networking or computer systems security as it relates to technology used at the organization; or
5. High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma and the equivalent of eight (8) years of full‐time experience in computer system hardware, operating systems and software, enterprise networking or computer systems security as it relates to technology used at the organization.

NOTE:
Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited school, college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have:

- Proven experience as a Mac Computer Administrator or similar role, with expertise in managing Mac systems using JAMF.

- Strong understanding of macOS operating systems, applications, and hardware configurations.

- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Power Automate for automation tasks.

- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues independently.

- Experience with IT security principles and practices, particularly related to Mac devices.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

- JAMF certification (e.g., Certified Casper Technician, Certified Casper Administrator) is a plus.
