Regular Company: Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center Department: Nursing - Resource Pool Time Type: Full time Weekly Hours: 37.5 FTE: 0.9375 Shift: Third Shift (United States of America) Summary: Join our team as a Registered Nurse in our Inpatient Float Pool and make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals facing cancer and cancer-related health challenges. In this role, you'll provide expert patient care, health teaching, and counseling while delivering interventions that restore and support well-being. You'll work collaboratively with physicians and licensed providers to carry out medical regimens and lead a dedicated care team of nurses and clinical support staff. Beyond daily patient care, you'll also take part in professional development opportunities through workshops, in-service training, and ongoing education. As a Registered Nurse in the Inpatient Float Pool, you will have the opportunity to receive critical care training based on the needs of the unit and at the discretion of the manager.We offer a starting pay of $54.08 per hour, based on your experience, along with a comprehensive and highly competitive benefits package. License Requirement
License to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of New York.
Education and Experience
1. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing1; or
2. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and prior experience working in a nursing home, psychiatric facility or other sub-acute facility1; or
3. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time medical-surgical experience in an acute care setting. 2
NOTE:
1. Incumbents must serve a one (1) year full-time probationary period as a Nurse I in order to be eligible for promotion to a Nurse II.
2 Upon successful completion of orientation and the ability to function independently at a satisfactory level for three (3) months (full-time), the incumbent would be eligible to be promoted to a Nurse II. This individual would then serve a one (1) year full-time probationary period as a Nurse II.
3. Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited school, college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
We are especially excited to connect with candidates who bring at least one year of experience on an inpatient adult medical-surgical floor and one year of adult critical care experience. Leadership skills are highly valued, and prior charge or team lead experience on an inpatient unit will set you apart. Candidates with current ACLS and BLS certifications are strongly encouraged to apply, as these credentials demonstrate a commitment to excellence in patient care and professional development.
