Summary

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for maintenance and repair of all building and power equipment in a Distribution Center. The ideal candidate must have knowledge of conveyors, schematics, forklifts, high-voltage electrical, motors, hydraulics, and general mechanics. This is a hands-on working position.

Essential Functions

  • Repair of all equipment, machinery, electrical and power systems, and building systems to insure uninterrupted services and operations.
  • Recommend and plan maintenance programs and work schedules to minimize equipment “down time.”
  • Install and repair equipment, and train employees on how to maintain machinery and perform trial run of machinery to ensure performance rates and quality meet established specifications.
  • Responsible for managing the maintenance service and repairs in the areas of plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, machine servicing and electrical servicing to the facility.
  • Manage facility layout changes throughout the building, including setting up conveyors, racking, relocating machinery and equipment, etc.
  • Assures that safety and security measures are established and implemented.
  • Assist a variety of functions with manual labor tasks as needed including loading, unloading, lifting, and moving materials.

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, required.
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge of schematics, battery maintenance, HVAC, welding, hydraulics, pneumatics, PLCs, D.C. Controllers, and A. C. Drives powered lift equipment, required.
  • Should be familiar with and capable of adhering to Lockout / Tagout procedures, preferred.
  • Knowledgeable in the procedures and safety measures of equipment, required.
  • Must be proficient at diagnosing repair needs and troubleshooting electrical circuitry and systems, required
  • Needs to have knowledge of forklift, order picker and reach truck repair, required.
  • Rapist and Conveyor Knowledge a plus, preferred.
