Job Description :

SUMMARY

Under general supervision, evaluates, designs, documents, installs, tests, implements, monitors and maintains data storage management sub-system in a multi-user computer environment. Provides users with efficient utilization, performance, reliability and protection of storage resources.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Ensures protection of all production defined on line data from loss due to mechanical failure or destruction with a reasonable and reliable method for both off-site and on-site recovery

Provides routine and emergency media maintenance as prescribed by the hardware vendor to ensure that performance, availability and reliability of storage medium are maintained.

Monitors, detects and corrects surface recording errors immediately

Implements efficient storage utilization, techniques and standards for the data storage sub-system

Assists with planning, installing and implementing storage technologies to meet Ryder's data requirements for growth, performance and utility

Assists with planning, installing, implementing, maintaining and operating software tools to aid in accomplishing the goals for storage management objectives including availability, backup/recovery, performance, utilization and management reporting

Ensures sufficient availability of storage resources to meet user's needs without interruption while maintaining maximum utilization and levels of performance

Assists with the strategic design, implementation and ongoing operation of the data storage subsystem for a broad range of platforms and operating systems

Assists with the planning, methodology, integrity, testing and execution of the data recovery procedures during disaster recovery declarations at both off and on-site locations

Identifies and implements methods to measure quality and effectiveness of all work processes. Applies quality improvement methodologies to continually enhance those processes

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION

H.S. diploma/GED High School Diploma or equivalent.

Associate's degree Associate's degree and industry-recognized IT certifications such as the MCSE are preferred. preferred.

EXPERIENCE

Three (3) years or more experience 3+ years of progressively responsible experience in data processing, servers system management software, hardware and operating system software support duties.

experience Possess in-depth knowledge of multi-platform computer software and hardware.

Demonstrated ability to analyze, draw conclusions and devise solutions to problems

KNOWLEDGE

Knowledge in designing, installing, configuring and maintaining multiple LINUX/WINDOWS/UNIX in a high availability production/cloud environment; intermediate level.

Knowledge of data storage management sub-systems and shared computer environments; intermediate level.

Knowledge of ITSM process-based practice and ITIL best practices approach for IT Service Management; intermediate level.

Compensation Information :

The compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's relevant experience; education, including relevant degrees or certifications; work location; market data/ranges; internal equity; internal salary ranges; etc. The position may also be eligible to receive an annual bonus, commission, and/or long-term incentive plan based on the level and/or type. Compensation ranges for the position are below:

$90,000.00

Maximum Pay Range:

$100,000.00
