SAIC has a need for an Associate Aerospace Engineer to provide engineering support at the Software, Simulation, Systems Engineering and Integration (S3I) Directorate in Huntsville, AL. The candidate will assist in the development, integration, and testing of hardware and software for evaluation and certification of modifications to commercial and military tactical avionics for Systems Integration Lab (SIL) for the High Accuracy Detection and Exploitation System (HADES). In a team environment, the candidate will support the integration of commercial and tactical military avionics hardware, test equipment, and software mission equipment components into existing aircraft configurations and future upgrades.
The Associate Aerospace Engineer will be responsible for but not limited to the following tasks:
- Review documentation, determine materials required, install upon receipt of materials, check out installed equipment to ensure Line Replaceable Units (LRUs) operate properly
- Develop/Review logical and physical drawings for hardware and wiring, to include fabrication for solutions to integrate LRUs into the HADES SIL DBB
- Assist in the development of system, hardware, and/or software requirement specification documents for stakeholder needs to be captured and the acquired through S3I or third-party vendors
- Create and update tasking in Azure DevOps (ADO) to log work being performed
- Collaborate with team lead to ensure task under user stories are updated and maintained
- Test LRUs individually and collectively in accordance with Test Plans
- Document findings
Qualifications
Required Education:
- Bachelor's degree and zero (0) years' experience; additional four (4) years' experience can be considered in lieu of degree.
Required Clearance:
- Must possess an active Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance; US Citizenship required.
Required Skills:
- Experience integrating COTS (Commercial Off the Shelf) equipment with Army tactical hardware desirable
- Support development of technical information (Schematics, drawings, bill of materials, etc.)
- Demonstrated self-starter with strong interpersonal communications skills and ability to work across geographically diverse groups
Desired Skills or Required Certifications:
- Experience performing Test Procedures
- Experience developing automated test scripts for test programs
- Experience creating hardware requirements, design, interface and test documentation
- Experience working in a research and development laboratory environment
- Knowledge of agile development processes
