SAIC is seeking an Artificial Intelligence Policy Engineer to support a fast-paced, dynamic environment involved in the development of AI Policy and capabilities. In this role, you will work closely with Intelligence Community (IC) government customers and IT developers to create AI Policy based on experience and real-world considerations. This position will serve as a senior technical advisor and subject matter expert (SME), facilitating stakeholder decision-making, policy, and governance pertaining to current and emerging AI technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Leadership and Advisory: Provide senior technical advisory support to project teams and stakeholders, ensuring best practices in AI policy development and governance.
  • AI Policy Development: Collaborate with IC partners and senior leadership to develop and refine AI policies, ensuring alignment with the organization's goals and national security objectives.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as the SME on AI technologies, including AI architecture, development, ethics, policy, and legal aspects of AI and emerging technologies.
  • Translation of Technical Concepts: Translate highly technical AI concepts into comprehensive policy and governance documents.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage and collaborate with various IC partners, including non-DoD IC elements, to facilitate information sharing and policy development.
  • Innovation and Forward-Thinking: Stay abreast of the latest advancements in AI, recommend necessary improvements, and proactively contribute to the achievement of the customer's vision.
  • Research and Analysis: Conduct trend analyses and provide insights on current and emerging AI technologies to inform policy and governance decisions.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Create high-level and highly technical documents on AI policy and governance, ensuring clarity and comprehensiveness.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Active TS/SCI with CI Polygraph.
  • Bachelor's and 8 (eight) years or more of related experience; Master's and six (6) years or more experience; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience.
  • Proven experience in establishing AI policy and governance documents for existing and emerging AI technology.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience collaborating with various IC partners on information sharing and policy development.
  • Expertise in creating high-level and highly technical documents on AI policy and governance.
  • Experience in at least one of the following fields: AI system development, AI architecture, AI policy, AI security, AI legal policy, and emerging technology.

Target salary range: $200,001 - $240,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
