Internship Dates/Scheduled Hours:  This is intended to be a full-time summer internship for the period of May 19th through August 8th with work expected from 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM daily.

 Job Description:

  • SAIC is seeking candidates for the summer of 2025 intern program that will run from May 19 to August 8.
  • The candidate selected will participate in a program kick off, weekly progress checks, team building activities, an interim review and final review/presentation.
  •  The focus of this internship will be to provide to provide data analysis support to Headquarters Air Force, Deputy Chief of Staff for Strategic Deterrence and Nuclear Integration and obtain insights in SAIC's efforts in this space.

 National Agency Check (NAC) Requirement/Clearance Opportunity

  • Secret clearance is preferred 
  • The candidate selected for this internship will have the opportunity to be submitted for adjudication of a DoD clearance.
  • This position will be located Pentagon Reservation and/or Joint Base Anacostia Bolling and will require successful adjudication of the National Agency Check (NAC) to obtain a DoD common access card (CAC).

 Duties/Responsibilities:

  • The candidate will assist current SAIC and government staff members to perform operations research data analysis to support the mission of the AF/A10 Nuclear Systems Integration Division.
  • This internship opportunity provides a unique chance to gain hands-on experience with the development of guidance on strategy, planning, programming, budgeting, warfighting, and assessment and engagements with the Department of Energy (DOE), the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), and the National Laboratories (LANL, LLNL, SNL) and national nuclear infrastructure (KCNSC, NNSS, Pantex, SRF, Y-12) on stockpile sustainment, development, disposition issues, and policy integration.

Qualifications

 Educational Background:

  •  Currently pursuing a degree in mathematics, engineering, operations research or related field.

 Desired Experience/Skills:

  • Commitment to exceptional client service and professionalism.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite of Applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and common office software applications.
  • Strong foundational skills with experience conducting operations research and analysis.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic government/contractor work environment.
  • Ability to problem-solve in a time-constrained environment and to take initiative and work independently as appropriate.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks through strong organizational skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality work.
