Job Description: SAIC is seeking an experienced AWS Cloud Operations Engineer to help migrate our large, complex Java application from on-premises to the AWS cloud. This is an exceptional opportunity to join our team and contribute to the modernization of our IT infrastructure.

Key Skills:  AWS Services (e.g., ECS, EC2, AMQ, EFS, S3, CloudWatch, RDS, Lambda, SQS, SNS, Glacier, Terraforms, API Gateway, CloudSearch, Elastic Load Balancing, etc.).   Ideal Candidates would also have experience with JAVA, SQL, Oracle, Web services (REST Based), Spring, SpringBoot, Hibernate, JSON, XML.

Responsibilities:

·       Design, implement, and manage AWS cloud infrastructure to support the migration of our Java application

·       Ensure high availability, scalability, and security of AWS resources (EC2, RDS, S3, etc.)

·       Collaborate with development teams to ensure seamless integration of AWS services with application architecture

·       Develop and implement automated deployment scripts using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or similar tools

·       Monitor and optimize AWS resource utilization, costs, and performance
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in AWS environments

·       Migrate 75 TB of storage from on-prem NFS to AWS EFS.

·       Migrate large scale Oracle database from on-prem to AWS RDS custom Oracle Enterprise Edition.

·       Implement and maintain security best practices, compliance, and governance in AWS

·       Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure successful migration and deployment

Qualifications

Requirements:

·       10+ years of experience in cloud operations, infrastructure management, or a similar role.  Or 8+ years with Master's degree.

·       Strong experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, etc.)

·       Expertise in infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, or Ansible

·       Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, etc.)

·       Experience with monitoring and logging tools (CloudWatch, ELK Stack, etc.)

·       Strong understanding of security best practices, compliance, and governance in cloud environments

·       Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues

·       Strong communication and collaboration skills

·       Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (ECS, Kubernetes)

·       Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automation tools (GitLab Runner, Jenkins, etc.)

·       Familiarity with Agile development methodologies

·       AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, DevOps Engineer)


Target salary range: $160,001 - $200,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
