SAIC is looking for a Battery Testing Electrical Engineer to support aerospace systems for the US Navy in Crane, IN.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support airborne lot testing and space applications, including programming files and assisting with vibration testing
- Become proficient in battery test methods, including monitoring points, switching, circuit protections, wattage management, and time correlation
- Apply practical engineering applications focus on engineering tasks, avoiding theoretical approaches
- Conduct predictive analysis, identify indicators of known and emerging failure modes, and better predict end-of-life characteristics of lithium-ion aircraft and space cells/batteries, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of various battery chemistries
- Assist other analysts in utilizing analytic platforms as needed
- Present findings, approaches, and processes to team members
Qualifications
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND CLEARANCE:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field with 5 or more years of experience, or a master's degree in electrical engineering or a related field with 3 years of experience
- Effective communication skills with all levels of personnel; able to work independently and as part of a team
- Interim Secret clearance required to start, with the ability to obtain a Secret clearance. SAIC will sponsor the process
- US Citizenship
DESIRED EXPERIENCE:
- Proficiency in LabView, MatLab, and C++
- Prior experience supporting DoD and/or NSWC Crane
- Strong Computer Science skills to develop and maintain data pipelines using Power BI, R, Python, SQL, etc., and implement quality control checks
- Experience with GitHub and Microsoft DevOps for version control of code
- Ability to apply practical physicist and electrical engineering skills to testing tasks
