SAIC is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Cloud Chief Architect with expertise in multiple cloud platforms, including AWS, Azure, OCI, and GCP. As the Principal Cloud Chief Architect, you will be responsible for designing and implementing cloud solutions that align with our organization's strategic objectives. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of scalable, secure, and resilient cloud architectures.

 

You will work closely with stakeholders in developing highly technical solutions for cloud migrations. You will be responsible for understanding business requirements, assessing existing infrastructure, and designing and implementing cloud migration strategies. Your expertise in cloud technologies, migration methodologies, and stakeholder management will be crucial in ensuring successful and efficient cloud migrations.

 

The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of cloud technologies, excellent leadership and communication skills, and a proven track record of successfully architecting, implementing cloud solutions and delivering complex cloud migration projects.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and implementation of cloud solutions across multiple cloud platforms, including AWS, Azure, OCI, and GCP.
  • Operate and maintain cloud environments using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and SRE principles.
  • Maintenance and ongoing development of automation and continuous build/integration/deployment infrastructure for multiple environments; write, build and deploy scripts.
  • Enable observability and resilience throughout multi-cloud landing zones and Dev/Test/Prod environments. 
  • Support implementation of security policies, standards, guidelines, and governance.
  • Continuously assess, onboard, and enable new FedRAMP cloud services using security best practices for IAM and networking. 
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable and secure cloud architectures. 
  • Collaborate with business leaders, IT teams, and subject matter experts, to understand their requirements, goals, and constraints.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to cross-functional teams, including developers, engineers, and operations teams.
  • Define and enforce cloud architecture best practices, standards, and guidelines.
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations of existing cloud environments, identifying areas for improvement and optimization.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in cloud technologies and recommend innovative solutions to enhance our cloud capabilities.
  • Collaborate with security teams to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct workshops and meetings to gather information and align on the technical aspects of the cloud migration project.
  • Assess the existing infrastructure, applications, and data to determine their suitability for cloud migration.
  • Identify dependencies, performance bottlenecks, security risks, and other factors that may impact the migration process.
  • Develop comprehensive cloud migration strategies, considering workload prioritization, data transfer methods, and migration tools.
  • Design target cloud architectures, ensuring scalability, availability, security, and cost optimization.
  • Work with technical teams to execute the cloud migration plan, configuring and deploying cloud services, virtual machines, containers, and other resources.
  • Collaborate with application teams to refactor, rearchitect, or re-platform applications for the cloud environment.
  • Mentor and coach junior architects and provide technical guidance and support.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Greater than 10 years experience.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience as a Cloud Architect, with a focus on AWS, Azure, OCI, and GCP.
  • Proven experience designing and implementing complex cloud architectures, including hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud services, infrastructure, networking, and security principles.
  • Familiarity with GovCloud preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud-native technologies, such as serverless computing, containers, and microservices.
  • In-depth understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Relevant certifications in AWS, Azure, OCI, and GCP (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert) are highly desirable.
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment is a plus.

Target salary range: $175,001 - $200,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
