SAIC is looking a Cognitive Performance Specialist for the Holistic Health and Fitness (H2F) Program at Fort Cavazos, Texas.

This position is contingent upon contract award in the Fall of 2024. The CPS will act as part of a multi-disciplinary team that will include Strength and Conditioning Coaches (SCC) and Athletic Trainers (AT) to function as integrated. Members of a Brigade (BDE)-based team focused on optimizing Soldier readiness and performance within the Army's new Holistic Health and Fitness (H2F) System.

Job Duties:

  • Train and educate Soldiers in individual and group settings, based upon evidence-based peer-reviewed literature, in specific cognitive, mental, behavioral, psychosocial, perceptual learning, and adaptive thinking skills.
  • Developing lines of communication within the Brigade (BDE) and Battalion (BN) leadership to ensure the command identified objectives for cognitive training are being executed.
  • Support the SCC staff by developing and delivering cognitive training programs that can be integrated into physical conditioning sessions delivered by the SCC.
  • Track Soldier/unit progression and provide data to the BDE PD as required.
  • Coordinate and assist the BDE leadership and/or the BDE Athletic Trainers (AT) to develop, coordinate, and execute approved training programs for Soldiers with physical limitations.

Qualifications

Required Education:

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited university in the field of Sport and Performance Psychology or a closely related discipline and (3) three years of relevant experience; Masters degree from an accredited university in the field of Sport and Performance Psychology or a closely related discipline and (1) one year of relevant experience.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Relevant experience is defined as developing and executing task and environment specific functional injury control and health/well-being programs for groups of professional/collegiate athletes or DoD/Department of Homeland Security/Department of Justice entities focused on a common sport or mission performance goal.
  • Employment related to internships or graduate work up to one year will be considered towards relevant experience.
