SAIC is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Communications Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, a keen eye for detail, and a proactive approach to communication strategy and execution. This role involves researching and producing engaging content, collaborating with various audiences, and supporting the development of comprehensive communication plans that align with our corporate strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research and produce communications content that is informational, educational, and designed to drive engagement.
- Collaborate with internal and external audiences to develop and refine communications content.
- Support the development of communication plans and timelines to ensure timely delivery of strategic initiatives.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of corporate communications strategy and standards.
- Proofread internal and external communications for clarity, tone, style, and grammar to ensure high-quality and effective messaging.
- Research targeted audiences and recommend appropriate communication channels.
- Develop and deliver presentations to internal teams and leadership.
- Generate innovative ideas to enhance communication processes and delivery methods.
- Support complex projects as assigned, ensuring timely and effective communications support.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, marketing, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of relevant work experience, preferably in federal government, cybersecurity, or healthcare sectors.
- Strong understanding of internal communications and its role in driving employee engagement.
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications, including SharePoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Experience with online applications such as Canva, WordPress, and Shutterstock.
- Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in communications, public relations, marketing, or a related field.
- Experience working in a corporate communications role within the technology, defense, or healthcare industries.
- Certification in Communications, Public Relations, or a related field (e.g., Accredited in Public Relations, Certified Communicator in Public Health).
- Strong analytical skills and experience with data-driven decision-making.
- Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies.
Target salary range: $80,001 - $120,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
