SAIC is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer SME to join the Machine-assisted Analytic Rapid-repository System (MARS) Advanced Development Operations (DevOps) and Sustainment Support (ADOS) program and provide on-site technical and administrative support to facilitate operations of critical MARS infrastructure and services. This effort focuses on providing a comprehensive set of System/ Software Engineering and IT Services to maintain, sustain, enhance, and improve/ modernize MARS. This position will be located in the National Capital Region.
Please note that this is contingent upon contract award, with an anticipated decision expected by Winter/ Spring 2026.
The Cybersecurity Engineer SME responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Spearhead the design, implementation, and enhancement of robust cybersecurity measures tailored to the unique requirements
- Architect and deploy advanced security solutions that safeguard the MARS environment from sophisticated cyber threats
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments, vulnerability analyses, and penetration testing to identify and mitigate potential security gaps
- Develop and enforce stringent security policies, protocols, and best practices in alignment with DoD and DIA standards
- Collaborate closely with development and IT teams to ensure that security is seamlessly integrated into all phases of the system lifecycle, from design to deployment
- Provide expert guidance and innovative solutions, ensuring MARS cyber resilience, protecting sensitive data, and maintaining operational integrity in the face of evolving cyber threats
Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI with Polygraph
- Two of the following certifications: CISM, CISSO, CISSP, CISSP-ISSEP, CISSP-ISSAP, CISA, CASP
- Bachelors degree in IT, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or Software Engineering and 18 years or more relevant experience (will consider an additional 4+ years of relevant experience in lieu of degree)
- 5+ years of experience leading CS teams in a similar environment with advanced expertise in cybersecurity engineering, developing robust security architectures, and leading security initiatives
- 3+ years of experience implementing corrections actions, bug fixes, implementing patches, or other remediation activity
- 3+ years of experience developing, implementing, and actioning POA&M with proficiency in advanced threat modeling, deploying security solutions, and ensuring regulatory compliance
- Knowledge of providing executive-level technical briefings and presentations to senior personnel in an IC/ DoD organization
Target salary range: $160,001 - $200,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
